In an email update to providers dated March 23, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) provided additional information on the Medicare Electronic Prescribing (eRx) Incentive Program and the 2012 eRx payment adjustment. CMS announced that it had completed a review of the exemption requests (submitted in late 2011) in February. Notification regarding whether or not exemptions were granted will be distributed to providers via email. CMS has not implemented an appeals process for the eRx Incentive Program and payment adjustment.
