NIH announces funding opportunity for obesity research

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has issued a funding opportunity announcement (PA-12-179) for Exploratory/Developmental Clinical Research Grants in Obesity (R21).  The goal is to accelerate the development of effective interventions for prevention or treatment of overweight or obesity in adults and/or children. Sleep and circadian researchers should consider collaborating with experts in obesity research to develop the most competitive proposal. The total project period may not exceed two years. Direct costs are limited to $275,000 over a two-year period, with no more than $200,000 in direct costs allowed in any single year. Standard application due dates apply. The expiration date is May 8, 2015.
