Clinicians and researchers interested in obtaining a comprehensive review of sleep medicine pharmacology can register to attend the AASM Sleep Education Series course, Pharmacology and Sleep Medicine, to be held Oct. 1–2, 2011, at the AASM national office in Darien, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago). This course, chaired by Thomas Roth, PhD, will feature prominent faculty presenting the most current and upcoming drug treatments for the full spectrum of sleep disorders, including:

  • Insomnia
  • Disorders of excessive sleepiness
  • Parasomnias
  • Sleep related breathing disorders
  • Circadian rhythm sleep disorders.

Pharmacology has been designated as a medical content category for the November 2011 American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) sleep medicine certification exam; individuals preparing to take this exam can register for this course to receive an extensive review of topics that may be covered on this exam.
