Beginning Sept. 1, 2010, applications will be accepted for a new program offering AASM Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Accreditation for non-Medicare providers. The AASM Standards for DME Accreditation, which were modeled after Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) standards, are now available on the AASM website. These AASM Standards for DME Accreditation are the final version and are not open for public comment.

Earning AASM DME Accreditation from the leader in sleep medicine will enable you to:

  • Obtain integrated sleep medicine accreditation for your DME and sleep facility.
  • Gain recognition as a DME provider that meets the highest standards of quality.
  • Enhance your eligibility for non-Medicare insurance reimbursement.

The application for AASM DME Accreditation will be posted on the AASM website later this summer at https://aasm.org/membership/committees/.
