Camilo Ruiz, DO, is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and serves on the AASM Coding and Compliance Committee, Educational Products Development Subcommittee, and is an official spokesperson for the AASM. He is the medical director of Choice Physicians Sleep Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Dr. Ruiz has subspecialty training in sleep medicine and is dual board-certified in sleep medicine and internal medicine. In 2013, he was bestowed the honorary Fellow degree from the American College of Osteopathic Internists for his commitment to exceptional patient care and outstanding service. He volunteers as a clinical assistant professor of internal medicine at Nova Southeastern University, where he earned his doctorate in osteopathic medicine.
Dr. Ruiz is fluent in English and Spanish. Also, he is regularly featured in print, radio, and nationally syndicated talk shows for Univision, CNN en Español, and Mundo Fox. Dr. Ruiz’s strong advocacy helps to advance the mission of the AASM at a local, national and international level.
