The three video and three written entries selected as finalists in the 2015 Flame Challenge can now be viewed online. Organized by the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science at Stony Brook University, the 2015 contest addressed the question, “What is sleep?” Entrants were challenged to explain sleep in a way that will enlighten 11-year-new students.

In classrooms across the country, students voted on the finalists. The winners of the 2015 Flame Challenge will be revealed at a special event at the World Science Festival on May 31, 2015.
