In a video statement, AASM President-Elect Timothy I. Morganthaler explains how longstanding quality metrics for obstructive sleep apnea pertain to the shift towards home sleep testing and an outcomes-based model of care. The AASM recognizes the limitations of the current measurements and is working to create new quality measures for sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy and restless legs syndrome. Dr. Morganthaler will address the AASM’s quality measurement efforts in a video which will be released in the coming weeks.
