After the recent destruction caused by Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Louisiana, and in anticipation of the damage that will be caused by Hurricane Irma, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) is announcing that disaster recovery assistance is available from the American Sleep Medicine Foundation (ASMF).
In response to the destruction caused by Hurricane Harvey, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) board of directors encourages all of our members to join us in making a donation to support disaster relief efforts in Texas and Louisiana.

As I mentioned during my address to the membership at SLEEP 2017, one of the challenges facing the field of sleep medicine is the need to increase access to care for patients who have a sleep disorder. This was a prominent topic of discussion during last weekend’s meeting of the AASM board of directors.
