The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force is requesting public comments on its draft recommendation statement for "Obstructive Sleep Apnea in Adults: Screening," which “concludes that the current evidence is insufficient to assess the balance of benefits and harms of screening for OSA in asymptomatic adults.”

Applications to the Fiscal Year 2016 (FY16) Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program (PRMRP) are now being accepted. All applications for PRMRP funding must specifically address at least one of the Topic Areas as directed by Congress - including Sleep Disorders - and must be directly relevant to the healthcare needs of military Service members, Veterans, and/or beneficiaries.

Hypoxia brought on by obstructive sleep apnea could represent a risk to the auditory pathway, suggests a study in the May issue of the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine.
