The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) officially opened the data submission period for the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) on Jan. 2 for eligible clinicians who participated in Year 2 of the Quality Payment Program.

However, the following two exceptions for data submission should be noted:

  1. Participants who use the CMS web interface are required to report quality data between Jan. 22 and March 22, 2019.
  2. Data for clinicians who report quality measures using Medicare Part B claims throughout the performance year will be received from claims processed by the Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC)

Note: All claims for services provided during 2018 must be processed within 60 days after the end of the 2018 performance period.

The data submission period will close on April 2, 2019.  Log in to the Quality Payment Program website to submit your data for MIPS Year 2 or report MIPS data using the AASM MIPSwizard.
