Only a small number of candidate biomarkers of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) appear promising and merit further research, according to a systematic review and meta-analysis in the January issue of the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine. According to the authors, the development of simple, cheap and reliable diagnostic tools for OSA would potentially revolutionize the field of sleep medicine.
