The annual Sleep Research Society Club Hypnos reception will take place at Neuroscience 2009, the 39th annual meeting of the Society for Neuroscience, on Monday, Oct. 19. All interested neuroscientists are welcome to attend this social event, which provides a networking opportunity for professionals interested in sleep research and sleep medicine. The reception will be held in Crystal Ballroom A of the Hyatt Regency Chicago beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Following the reception will be the 2009 Sleep and Circadian Biology DataBlitz, which will take place on Oct. 19 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Crystal Ballroom B at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. The DataBlitz is an informative session that is highlighted by "one minute" – "one slide" presentations of sleep and circadian abstracts from the SfN annual meeting. The event moderator will be Erik Herzog, PhD, director of the Herzog Lab at Washington University in St. Louis, and the two-minute plenary speaker will be Robert Stickgold, PhD, director of the Center for Sleep and Cognition at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The event is organized by the DataBlitz Program Committee and the National Center on Sleep Disorders Research. It is open to all SfN meeting participants; no admission is charged, and no registration is needed.
