The AASM is launching a new board preparation webinar series that focuses on specific topical areas for non-specialists. The first webinar in the Non-Specialist Update Series, Sleep Neurology for Non-Neurologist, led by Brad Vaughn, MD, is Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at 12:00 CT.
Sleep Neurology for the Non-Neurologist is intended for pulmonologists, psychiatrists, otolaryngologists and pediatricians preparing for the ABSM examination in sleep medicine. It will provide a review of sleep disorders in patients with neurological disorders and a focus on the electroencephalographic recordings obtained during polysomnography. The session will include a general review of neurological disease and sleep (e.g., stroke, MS, Parkinsons, HA, spinal cord issues, peripheral neuropathy, myopathy) and an approach to EEG, seizures and interictal activity.
