The AASM Online Learning Center is the newest educational resource from the AASM. The AASM is offering select streaming multimedia presentations for FREE, as part of a month-long AASM Online Learning Center preview. These online learning modules are presented by leaders in the field of sleep and have been developed specifically for online viewing as well as captured at previous live AASM Sleep Education Series Courses.

The first online learning module available through this offer is The Basics of Sleep Medicine – Insomnia: Etiology, Evaluation and Treatment. Developed and presented by Dr. Richard Rosenberg, PhD, AASM Director of Professional Education and Training, this presentation reviews the fundamentals of insomnia including pathophysiology, evaluation, diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Rosenberg also discusses the comorbidities that trigger insomnia and prevent effective treatment as well as the consequences of untreated insomnia.

Visit the AASM Online Learning Center homepage from Monday, April 4, through Sunday, April 10 to view The Basics of Sleep Medicine – Insomnia: Etiology, Evaluation and Treatment. Check the AASM Online Learning Center homepage each Monday for a different free online learning module.

More than 20 online learning modules are currently available in the online learning center on a variety of other topics including scoring sleep studies, portable monitoring, business and current topics in sleep medicine. Each module is available for purchase in 3-day or 30-day access lengths. AASM Members receive a discount on all purchases.
