Essential training for new sleep technicians to be offered through the AASM’s A-STEP Introductory Course

Ensure that new sleep technicians at your facility receive the education that they need to quickly and successfully begin a career in the profession of sleep technology by registering them for the AASM’s Accredited Sleep Technologist Education Program (A-STEP) Introductory Course. The 80-hour comprehensive program will be held Oct. 3–14, 2011, at the AASM national office in Darien, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago). During the two-week program, participants will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of sleep technology through a mixture of didactic lectures, online learning, practical exercises and observation at a sleep center.

This course will be limited to 20 participants in order to ensure that each individual receives personalized training and hands-on experience during exercises and sleep center observation. Individuals interested in participating in this program are encouraged to register early to reserve your space. For more information about this program, including a full daily schedule, course requirements, fees and to register, visit the Sleep Education Series portion of the AASM website. Questions may be directed to the AASM meeting department by sending an email to or calling 630-737-9756.
