We have heard our members ask the same question, “How can we better network with fellow sleep professionals?” To bridge that gap, we have been working toward creating a more user-friendly and efficient way to connect members. Beginning June 11, American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) members will experience a new and improved membership directory.

The directory search will still allow you to search by name, city, state and country, but moving forward you will now be able to find peers by professional category and primary specialty.

Once you access a member’s profile, you will notice some enhancements to the display. You will no longer just see a member’s name and location. Instead, you will be able to get to know an AASM member by their:

  • Profile Image
  • Social Media Profile
  • Professional Title
  • Phone Number
  • Volunteer Experience
  • Professional Summary
  • And More!

But how can you get ready for the June 11 release? Right now, you need to log in to your AASM account and complete your personal profile. Once logged in, click “My Directory Profile” on the left side menu. This is where you will complete all the information necessary for other AASM members to find you. Not interested in appearing in the directory? No problem! There is a check box if you wish to decline participation in this member benefit.

The AASM makes every effort to enhance and improve the member experience, and we are excited to launch the new membership directory. We hope that you find the changes to be an improvement in your experience, and we encourage you to take just a few moments to help members find you.
