The American Academy of Sleep Medicine congratulates the members who were elected to positions of leadership during the 2026 election, including Vishesh K. Kapur, MD, MPH, FAASM, who was elected as the 2026 – 2027 president-elect, and Lynn Marie Trotti, MD, MSc, FAASM, who was elected as secretary/treasurer.
Paul D. Raymond, MD, and Robert Stansbury, MD, FAASM, were elected to serve as a director. Current board members who were re-elected for another term as a director were Anuja Bandyopadhyay, MD, FAASM; Indira Gurubhagavatula, MD, MPH, FAASM; Joyce Lee-Iannotti, MD, FAASM; and Susheel P. Patil, MD, PhD, FAASM. Kunwar P. Vohra, MD, MBA, FAASM, was elected as an at-large member of the Leadership Development Committee.
The Leadership Development Committee nominated these leaders, who were elected by voting members. Their terms will commence Monday, June 15, during the AASM annual membership meeting, when the current president-elect, Fariha Abbasi-Feinberg, MD, FAASM, will become the 2026 – 2027 AASM president.
