2023 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Proposed Rule

On July 7, 2022, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced the release of the proposed rule citing potential revisions to payment policies under the Medicare physician fee schedule and other Part B payment policies.

2022 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Final Rule

On Nov. 2, 2021, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the Medicare program final rule, which details revisions to payment policies included in the physician fee schedule and Quality Payment Program (QPP) for 2022.

UPDATE: On December 16, 2021, CMS announced an updated 2022 physician fee schedule conversion factor of $34.6062. CMS implemented this change in response to the Protecting Medicare and American Farmers from Sequester Cuts Act, which was signed into law by President Biden on Dec. 10, 2021. On July 13, 2021, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced the release of the proposed rule citing potential revisions to payment policies under the Medicare physician fee schedule and other Part B payment policies.

2021 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Final Rule

On Dec. 1, 2020, CMS released the final rule that includes final changes to the 2021 Medicare physician fee schedule (PFS) and final policies for the Quality Payment Program (QPP). On Dec. 27, 2020, the Consolidated Appropriations Act was signed into law, offsetting almost all of the 10.2% budget neutrality adjustments that were to have taken effect on Jan. 1, 2021.

On Aug. 3, 2020, CMS announced the release of the proposed rule citing potential revisions to payment policies under the Medicare physician fee schedule and other Part B payment policies.

2020 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Final Rule

On Nov. 1, 2019, CMS released the 2020 Medicare physician fee schedule final rule. AASM staff analyzed the final rule to determine whether CMS finalized proposals that would impact the field of sleep medicine.

Payment can be searched by locality to find the variation in reimbursement from region to region. Additionally, searches can be performed with or without modifiers to help determine the exact reimbursement for a service performed.
