Apply for diversity, equity and inclusion travel grant and leadership award

This is your final opportunity to apply for the 2022 AASM Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Travel and Registration Grant or to submit a nomination to the APSS for the 2022 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Leadership Award.

Both deadlines have been extended to Monday, Feb. 21, 2022.

Travel and Registration Grant

This grant provides AASM members whose demographic characteristics are underrepresented within the AASM’s volunteer and leadership population an opportunity to become more engaged. It provides free registration for the SLEEP annual meeting and a $1,500 stipend for up to five recipients to attend SLEEP 2022 in Charlotte this June.

Eligible underrepresented groups are defined by the AASM using demographic data from the July 2021 DEI report. Visit the grant webpage for complete eligibility information and the application.

Leadership Award

The Associated Professional Sleep Societies (APSS), a joint venture of the AASM and the Sleep Research Society, presents the 2022 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Leadership Award. The award recipient will be an individual who has made significant contributions to the field of sleep medicine and/or sleep and circadian science to promote diversity or reduce sleep health disparities.

The recipient will receive complimentary registration for SLEEP 2022 in Charlotte, where the award will be presented. Visit the award webpage to learn how you can nominate yourself or a colleague.
