Earlier this week the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) announced plans for changes in its program for lifelong learning and continuing certification, also known as maintenance of certification (MOC).
Included is a plan to develop a new pilot alternative to its current 10-Year MOC Examination. ABPN also will continue to waive eight hours of self-assessment CME credit in each 3-year continuous MOC block when diplomates receive approval of a peer-reviewed grant or get a peer-reviewed paper indexed in a scientific journal.
