Charlene Gamaldo, MD, is a fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and the medical director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Sleep at Howard County General Hospital. She is board-certified in sleep medicine and neurology.
Dr. Gamaldo represents the AASM on the Associated Professional Sleep Societies (APSS) Program Committee, which plans the scientific program of the SLEEP annual meeting. She is on the editorial board for the AASM Scoring Manual Committee and is an associate editor for the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine. Her research interests include the co-morbid health consequences of chronic sleep deprivation. She also has published several papers on restless legs syndrome. She completed her fellowship at Johns Hopkins University and completed her residency at the University of North Carolina. Dr. Gamaldo earned her medical degree from George Washington University.
