The American Academy of Sleep Medicine launched an updated version of The AASM Manual for the Scoring of Sleep and Associated Events: Rules, Terminology, and Technical Specifications, the definitive reference for sleep technologists who perform and score sleep studies and for physicians who interpret polysomnographic recordings.
Version 2.0.3 contains minor text revisions, primarily to provide clarification to the existing rules and supporting notes. No revisions or additions were made to the scoring rules.
Subscribers automatically receive the new version when accessing the scoring manual online. Users who have the free iOS Scoring Manual App for the iPhone and iPad will need to download the new version within the app. The download button will appear under the Account page in the app.
These revisions to the scoring manual are part of the regular, ongoing review process conducted by the AASM Scoring Manual Committee. Comments or questions about the scoring manual can be submitted to the AASM at scoringmanual@aasm.org.
AASM Scoring Manual subscriptions run on a calendar year basis. Individuals who subscribe now will have access through December 2014. AASM Accredited Center Members may provide unlimited access for all staff members at a flat rate through the institutional subscription program.
