AASM congratulates members elected to leadership positions: 2023 election results

The American Academy of Sleep Medicine congratulates the members who were elected to positions of leadership during the 2023 AASM leadership election, including Eric Olson, MD, who was elected as the 2023 – 2024 president-elect, and Anita Shelgikar, MD, MHPE, who was elected as secretary/treasurer.

Members who were elected to serve as a director are:

• Indira Gurubhagavatula, MD, MPH
• Susheel Patil, MD, PhD

Directors elected for reappointment for another term are:

• Fariha Abbasi-Feinberg, MD
• Vishesh Kapur, MD, MPH
• David Kuhlmann, MD

Vidya Krishnan, MD, MHS, was elected as an at-large member of the Nominating Committee.

These leaders were nominated by the board of directors following their recommendation by the Nominating Committee, and they were elected by voting members. Their terms will commence Monday, June 5, during the AASM annual membership meeting, when the current president-elect, James Rowley, MD, will become the 2023 – 2024 AASM president.
