The AASM is committed to educating members on opportunities in telemedicine.  The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that it will begin to accept grant applications for the Distance Learning and Telemedicine (DLT) Program. The DLT Program provides grants to help schools and health care providers invest in telecommunications facilities and equipment for the sole purpose of meeting the educational and medical needs of rural communities.  Grants are competitive and range from $50,000 to $500,000.  Grant applications are due August 12, 2013. Individuals and sole-proprietorships are not eligible.
