The AASM is inviting all interested members to nominate candidates for service as an at-large member of the AASM Board of Directors. Service as an at-large Director is a three-year appointment, with the term effective in June at SLEEP 2015, the Annual Meeting of the APSS, in Seattle, WA. Directors are required to attend five face-to-face meetings and participate in conference calls as necessary.

The AASM is also soliciting applications for a representative of the Academy to the SLEEP Program Committee. This committee sets the educational content for the annual scientific meeting. Both of these positions require that you be a regular member in good standing for at least five consecutive years, who is active in sleep disorders medicine. According to the bylaws, the candidate must be a regular member MD, DO, PhD and/or DDS or have a doctoral degree in the health care field. Candidates should have prior service on a standing AASM Committee or task force or chair of an AASM section sometime in the past five years.

The AASM has a conflict of interest policy with which all candidates must comply; interested applicants should review the conflict of interest policy in advance of submitting their nominations. Members should also complete the conflict of interest disclosure form, a maximum two-page biosketch that details professional experience and a maximum two-page letter of intent.

Nominations must be received by Friday, December 19. For more information on how to submit a nomination, please view the AASM website.  The materials can be sent via email to jmoney@aasm.org, fax to (630) 737-9790 or postal mail to:
