SLEEP 2014 features more than 90 clinical and scientific sessions on topics ranging from best practices to the latest research developments. This year the SLEEP 2014 Plenary Session (Monday, 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.) will include the keynotes “Sleep and the Price of Plasticity” by Giulio Tononi, MD, PhD, and “Managed Care Perspective on Long-term Treatment, Outcomes and Economics of Sleep Disorders.”
Sleep physicians are encouraged to attend two sessions that focus on the future of the field. D05: A New Sleep Care Paradigm (Tuesday, 10:20 a.m. – 12:20 p.m.) will outline a model of care for diagnosing and managing patients with sleep disorders based on the Affordable Care Act and other changes in the health care system and how the role of the physician and sleep team will change. Overcoming the Challenges of the Future: The Welltrinsic Sleep Network (Tuesday 12:20 p.m. – 1:20 p.m.) will explain how a national network will protect the viability of sleep practices and promote quality-based care by connecting practice development, patient care, data management and insurance contracting.
