The AASM is taking the next step forward in evidence-based guideline development by fully adopting GRADE (Grading of Recommendation Assessment, Development and Evaluation) as the methodology used for evaluating evidence and forming clinical practice guidelines recommendations, according to a special article in the January issue of the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine. This change enhances the ability of the AASM to promote high quality, patient-centered care by providing clear, evidence-based recommendations.
