The 2018 AASM Physician & Advanced Practice Provider Compensation Survey is the largest national salary and compensation survey of sleep physicians and advanced practice providers. The survey report, which includes a foreword from AASM President Dr. Douglas Kirsch, is now available online as a members only resource.

The AASM hired ECG Management Consultants as the independent, third-party administrator of the survey. The survey report represents ECG’s key findings and analyses of the responses.

The AASM’s goals for the survey were:

  • Establishing a comprehensive, de-identified compensation and production data set specific to sleep medicine physicians and advanced practice providers
  • Providing AASM members with tools to evaluate factors that affect provider compensation
  • Helping AASM members identify the right mix of provider compensation, benefits, incentives, and opportunities when reviewing their compensation and benefits packages compared to the market

Requested data represent activities from the 12 months ending Dec. 31, 2017. Results are based on responses from 883 members, including 617 physicians and 84 nurse practitioners and physician assistants. The physician benchmarks are based on data from the 462 respondents who indicated that they actively treated sleep medicine patients and were hired prior to 2017.

In order to preserve participant confidentiality, only summary statistics are reported.
