On Monday, May 16, 2011, the Division of Sleep Medicine at Harvard Medical School will release the 3rd module of its Sleep and Health Education Program focusing on obstructive sleep apnea. The program is an initiative to improve sleep literacy among the general public. This new module, entitled “APNEA,” features a video highlighting Mr. Shaquille O’Neal, a newly diagnosed obstructive sleep apnea patient.

The module contains extensive information on the symptoms, personal and societal impact, diagnosis and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea delivered through a mixture of text, graphics, video and user-interactive media. It will provide useful information for patients, their families and any person interested in learning more about this important condition.
