The courses will be held at the Marriott Los Angeles Downtown in Los Angeles, Calif., from Feb. 6 to 8, 2009.

AASM Current Topics in Sleep Medicine will explore diagnostic, therapeutic and technologic issues for sleep clinicians, challenging you with new methodologies, new patient management strategies and a discussion of unusual cases. Course content will include these “hot topics”: the use of portable monitors in the diagnosis and management of obstructive sleep apnea, metabolic and endocrine functions and sleep, advances in pediatric sleep medicine, and the effects on sleep of war and acts of terrorism. The AASM will award 19.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for this course.

AASM Business of a Sleep Center will help attendees effectively manage a sleep center and maximize patient care. Topics will include the development of a strategic plan and marketing, reimbursement issues, legal issues, and evaluation of the cost-effectiveness of new technologies. The course also will address the use of portable monitors in the diagnosis and management of obstructive sleep apnea. The AASM will award 14 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for this course.
