In 2017 the AASM is again offering a discounted rate for submission of data through the AASM PQRSwizard registry, a reporting mechanism approved by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS), which is a non-mandatory CMS quality program. Providers who do not participate in PQRS are subject to a payment penalty in 2018. The deadline for 2016 data submission through the PQRSwizard site has been extended from March 10 to March 17 at 5 p.m. EDT.
For members who do not submit data through electronic health records, reporting through the PQRSwizard registry is an excellent option to easily submit data and avoid penalties. The sleep apnea measures group featured in the registry has seven measures related to obstructive sleep apnea. Participants will submit data on 20 patients seen during the 2016 calendar year. To begin your PQRS data submission, visit the AASM PQRSwizard website to enroll at the discounted rate of $225. Select the sleep apnea measures group option for easy reporting targeted to sleep medicine physicians.
Two upcoming PQRSwizard webcast presentations, which will include live Q&A, offer assistance for the PQRS data submission process:
PQRSwizard Data Entry Options: A Walkthrough of the Data Upload Process
March 9 at 3 p.m. EST
Submitting your PQRSwizard Report: A review of the most frequently asked questions of 2016
March 15 at 3 p.m. EDT
Visit the AASM PQRSwizard support page, where you will find a video library with other archived demonstrations.
To ensure that you avoid the 2018 payment penalties, submit your 2016 data through AASM PRQSwizard by Friday, March 17, 2017 at 5 p.m. EDT. Once the deadline has passed, the homepage of the PQRSwizard website will be updated to enable providers to enter an email address to be notified of when the 2017 MIPSwizard registration begins.
