A workshop sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center in the Department of Defense will explore the research potential of virtual reality (VR) technologies as tools for behavioral and neuroscience studies in diabetes and obesity, and the practical potential of VR technology in fostering more effective utilization of nutrition and lifestyle information related to diabetes and obesity.

The Virtual Reality Technologies for Research and Education in Obesity and Diabetes workshop, which has potentially far-reaching application to sleep disorders and behavioral sleep medicine, will be held July 15-16, 2010, in Bethesda, Md.
