NIH Accepting Applications for Pioneer, New Innovator & Transformative Research Projects Awards

Each year the National Institutes of Health (NIH) makes grants to exceptionally creative scientists through the NIH Director’s Pioneer Award, New Innovator Award, and the Transformative Research Projects Award programs. The application period for the 2011 NIH Director’s Pioneer Award (up to $2.5 million in direct costs over five years for scientists at any career stage) opens Aug. 13, 2010, and closes Sept. 13, 2010. The application period for the 2011 NIH Director’s New Innovator Award (up to $1.5 million in direct costs over five years for early stage investigators) begins Aug. 20, 2010, and ends Sept. 20, 2010.
