Medicare finalizes LCD policies for hypoglossal nerve stimulation for sleep apnea

Medicare has finalized and posted local coverage determination (LCD) policies on “Hypoglossal Nerve Stimulation for the Treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea.” The American Academy of Sleep Medicine previously submitted feedback during the public comment periods put forth by all seven Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs). Medicare reviewed these public comments before posting the final LCDs along with accompanying local coverage articles (LCAs).
