The attestation deadline for the 2012 Medicare Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program is February 28, 2013. Eligible professionals who participated in the 2012 reporting period are encouraged to register and attest soon to prevent any delay to incentive payments. According to a recent report from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), incentive payments of nearly $10.7 billion have been distributed to successful participants in the EHR Incentive Program. The report, which reflects payments through December 2012, found that more than 4,000 hospitals and more than 350,000 physicians and other eligible professionals are registered for Medicare and/or Medicaid incentive programs.
