Registration for the AASM Sleep Education Series course, Interpreting Sleep Studies, will close Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010. The course, to be held Oct. 22–24, 2010, at the AASM national office in Darien, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago), will include discussion of polysomnography, portable monitoring and actigraphy. Sessions will focus on clinical signs, indications for testing, interpretation of tests and development of treatment plans.

Individuals also may register for the Pharmacology and Sleep Medicine course until Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010. This course will be presented Oct. 30–31, 2010, at the AASM national office and will focus on current and upcoming pharmacologic treatments for a variety of sleep disorders including insomnia, disorders of excessive sleepiness, parasomnias, sleep-related breathing disorders and circadian rhythm disorders.
