Sleep ISR is expanding!

The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) is looking for physicians and technologists who are willing and able to participate on the Gold Standard Panel for pediatric Sleep ISR records. We are actively looking for people to fill a limited number of positions.

Pediatric Gold Standard Panel

The AASM is expanding Sleep ISR to include pediatric records in 2019. We are looking for physicians and sleep technologist to serve on the pediatric Gold Standard Panel. Applicants should have experience with pediatric populations and Sleep ISR. An overview of the roles and responsibilities is provided below:

Physician Co-Chair

The physician co-chair serves as an educator explaining how the guidelines of the scoring manual apply to the 200 epochs of the Sleep ISR monthly records. Responsibilities include working with the panelist to create the final scorecard, developing the educational video and responding to user inquiries on behalf of the Gold Standard Panel. Interested physicians should have experience with pediatric populations and Sleep ISR. Physicians should feel comfortable learning and using new technology. The physician co-chairs alternate months of responsibility. Estimated time on month of responsibility is 26 hours. AASM provides a stipend for the gold standard panelist.

Physician Non-Chair

The physician non-chair scores monthly records and assists in developing the final scorecard. The physician non-chair participates in monthly conference calls with gold standard panelist to discuss areas of contention and create a consensus. Interested physicians should have experience with pediatric populations and Sleep ISR. Estimated time is 3 hours a month. AASM provides a stipend for the gold standard panelist.

Sleep Technologist

The sleep technologist scores monthly records and assists in developing the final scorecard. The sleep technologist participates in monthly conference calls with the gold standard panelist to discuss areas of contention and create a consensus. Interested sleep technologists should have experience with pediatric populations and Sleep ISR. Estimated time is 3 hours a month. AASM provides a stipend for the gold standard panelist.
