An editorial in the January issue of the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine by founding Editor-in-Chief Stuart Quan, MD, marks the beginning of the journal’s 10th year of publication by the AASM. In the last decade the journal has grown and developed, increasing its publishing frequency from quarterly to monthly and processing more than 400 submissions per year. Quan recounts that the original mandate of the AASM board of directors was for the journal to publish excellent science that is clinically relevant to sleep practitioners. Today the journal continues to play a leading role in the field by informing sleep medicine professionals about advances in clinical care and changes in the practice of sleep medicine.
