Congress May Use Budget Reconciliation Process to Pass Medicare Bill

As reported by CQ Today, leaders of the House and Senate Budget committees this week indicated the possibility that the fiscal year 2009 budget reconciliation process may be used to pass Medicare legislation that includes a provision to prevent the 10-percent reduction to physician payments, which is scheduled to take effect July 1, 2008.

More information on the scheduled reduction to payments for Medicare services will be communicated to members as it becomes available.
