CMS seeks comments on Quality Payment Program Year 2 final rule

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently published and is accepting comments on the Quality Payment Program Year 2 final rule for the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA).

This final rule gives updates for both Year 2 and subsequent years of the Quality Payment Program, which includes the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). An interim final rule with comment period also was issued to address the circumstances that MIPS-eligible clinicians may be facing due to the widespread destruction caused by Hurricanes Irma, Harvey and Maria.

Comments for both rules must be received by Jan. 1, 2018.
