On Nov. 25, 2013 the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued the display copy of the 2014 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule final rule, which reflects updates to payment policies and payment rates for services billed on or after Jan. 1, 2014.
The rule finalizes changes to payment effecting sleep services. Additional staff time and equipment was assigned to the pediatric sleep codes (95782 and 95783) resulting in more accurate practice expense values. Additionally, CMS elected not to finalize proposed changes to PQRS that would have substantially increased the reporting burden for sleep physicians.
