The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has announced a call for submissions for the Healthy Behavior Data Challenge.

Conducted concurrently with a similar challenge proposed by the Public Health Agency of Canada, the project will explore new ways to address the public health surveillance challenges and limitations of self-reporting for sleep and other health behaviors. It will tap into the potential of innovative data sources and alternative methodologies such as wearable devices, mobile applications and social media.

Phase I Prototype Development submissions will be accepted through Aug. 4, 2017. The Phase II Prototype Implementation submission period will begin Oct. 2, 2017, and end Jan. 15, 2018.
