The A-STEP is an 80 hour didactic training course designed to be provided by AASM accredited sleep centers. The course, developed by the AASM in 2006, is an excellent introduction to sleep technology.
Starting in July of 2010 the BRPT will require that all technologists sitting for their registry exam take the A-STEP Introductory Course. Beat the rush – start a program today. Join the more than 50 AASM-accredited centers who have already become A-STEP Introductory Course providers.
The accreditation application and standards can be found on the A-STEP Web site at www.aasmnet.org/astep. Contact Carolyn Winter-Rosenberg at the AASM office with questions: (708) 492-0930.
