The AASM Manual for the Scoring of Sleep and Associated Events Version 2.2 is being updated to allow an additional option for monitoring respiratory effort during home sleep apnea testing (HSAT). Effective immediately, “single or dual pneumatic belts” is being added to the technical specifications list of acceptable HSAT technologies for monitoring respiratory effort. This list also includes RIP belts, PVDF belts and piezo belts.
The online and app-based versions of the AASM Scoring Manual soon will be updated to reflect this change, and a notice is being mailed to all individuals who have purchased a print copy of the manual.
