AASM responds to new ACP guideline for diagnosis of sleep apnea

This week the AASM submitted to the American College of Physicians (ACP) a detailed response from AASM President Dr. Timothy Morgenthaler addressing concerns related to the ACP’s new clinical practice guideline for the diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea in adults. Expanding on the brief comment he previously submitted to the Annals of Internal Medicine, Dr. Morgenthaler identifies specific areas of concern and highlights differences between the clinical guidelines of the ACP and the AASM.
