The Oct. 1 issue of SLEEP includes new “Practice parameters for the surgical modifications of the upper airway for obstructive sleep apnea in adults” from the AASM. The practice parameters update the previous recommendations published by the AASM in 1996.

Based on a systematic review of the scientific literature that was performed by an expert task force, the practice parameters were developed by the AASM Standards of Practice Committee and reviewed and approved by the AASM board of directors.
