American Academy of Sleep Medicine President Dr. Timothy Morgenthaler recently joined National Institutes of Health Director Dr. Francis Collins on an expert panel that discussed the new documentary Sleepless in America. The upcoming documentary takes an in-depth look at how developments in sleep science are shedding light on the public health consequences of insufficient sleep. The panel discussion, which followed the premiere screening of the film in Washington, D.C., also involved Army Surgeon General Patricia Horoho, National Transportation Safety Board Member Mark Rosekind, PhD, and AASM member Dr. Charles Czeisler. Sleepless in America will be broadcast on the National Geographic Channel at 8 p.m. EST on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014.
