AASM members meet with federal legislators to advocate for the sleep field

AASM member Dr. Mark Hickey and AASM PAC Chair Dr. David Kuhlmann recently traveled to Washington D.C. to meet with a host of targeted U.S. lawmakers to discuss issues of importance to the field of sleep medicine.

Key topics of discussion included the need for a Stark Law exception for sleep physicians, expanded access to telemedicine, quality sleep disorders care for U.S. veterans, increased awareness of the dangers of drowsy driving, and greater access to sleep apnea treatment in underserved communities.
