On Tuesday, April 17, AASM leaders held meetings on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., at the offices of more than 30 U.S. Senators and Representatives — or 5% of the entire U.S. Congress! While that’s a phenomenal day’s work, we can – and will – do more, but only with the active and ongoing support of you and your sleep colleagues.

Have you signed the AASM’s petition to push Congress to form a caucus to address sleep issues? Our most recent lobby day may be over, but we’re already planning our next trip to the Capitol. Do you have a minute to spare to lend your voice to help the sleep field?

Sign our petition today– show Congress just how many sleep professionals have their back when they champion healthy sleep!

Beyond calls for a sleep caucus, our meetings were full of needed discussions on Stark Law reform, the dangers of drowsy driving, research funding, and the importance of sleep for U.S. active duty military personnel and veterans. Learn more about AASM advocacy initiatives.

While nothing beats a face-to-face meeting, the AASM Political Action Committee (AASM PAC) is truly sleep medicine’s greatest asset in bringing necessary reforms for sleep medicine policy for you and your patients. Please consider making a gift to the AASM PAC to support U.S. lawmakers who support the sleep field.

The 2018 mid-term election is just around the corner. Your support is needed now more than ever. Today, can sleep patients count on you to make a $50 gift to the AASM PAC?
