In response to the recently published Medicare physician fee schedule final rule, the AASM joined the American Medical Association (AMA) Federation and many other health care organizations in submitting a letter to advocate against the 2.83% Medicare physician payment cuts, which are scheduled to take effect Jan. 1, 2025.

This letter supports the ongoing AASM #RepairMedicare campaign and summarizes the perspective of physicians who continue trying to navigate the consistently declining reimbursements while direct and indirect costs continue to rise annually along with inflation. The letter also supports ongoing advocacy efforts to strongly encourage Congressional leaders to pass legislation to prevent the scheduled Medicare physician payment cut and provide a positive payment update for 2025.
